Hyperlapse of a sunset taken at Kona, Hawai’i on 22 December 2015. Filmed with a GoPro Hero 3.

Kona has got to be one of the most amazing places I’ve ever stayed. The sunsets are perfect, the island itself is a wonderland and Kona is the best place to see it from.

We explored the island of Hawai’i using Kona as a base and saw volcanoes, waterfalls, coral, tropical fish, black sand beaches, snow, amazing stars, jungles, planes of rocks and more.

The island of Hawai’i is magical. And it all started with this sunset.

Mate, who am i?

(I ask myself the same thing)

Travelling can be really hard when you never feel like you're prepared. But, the more I do it the more I realise that being unprepared is the best way to travel. I’m Rowena. I live with depression and an anxiety disorder, which inspires a lot of my writing. My first reaction is to over-pack, over-worry, freak out, and give myself a headache. I’m consciously rebelling against that.
